This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which cookies decorwithpurpose.com (“we,” “us,” or “our”) uses, and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal information more broadly.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device — your computer, phone, or tablet — when you visit. When you return, your browser sends the cookie back to the site, which helps the site remember you and your preferences. Cookies cannot install programs, carry viruses, or damage your device; they are simply notes your browser keeps on a website’s behalf.

Sites also use similar technologies that work like cookies, such as local storage and pixels. In this Policy, we use the word “cookies” to cover all of these.

Cookies generally fall into two buckets by lifespan: session cookies, which disappear when you close your browser, and persistent cookies, which stay on your device for a set period (or until you delete them) so the site can recognize you on your next visit.

2. Which Cookies This Site Uses

We keep our cookie use minimal. Here are the categories of cookies you may encounter on Decor With Purpose, and our honest account of which ones are currently active:

Strictly Necessary Cookies

These are essential for the Site to work — for example, remembering your cookie-consent choice, keeping the site secure, and making pages load correctly through our caching setup. They do not track you for advertising, and the Site cannot function properly without them. Because they are strictly necessary, they are always on.

Preferences & Functional Cookies

If we add features that remember your choices — such as a dark-mode toggle or layout preference — these cookies store those settings so you don’t have to re-select them on every visit. We currently use very few of these, and only to remember choices you have explicitly made.

Analytics Cookies

Analytics cookies help us understand which articles readers find useful — for example, which budget makeovers get the most visits — so we can create more of what you love. If we enable an analytics service, it will set its own cookies to count visits and see how readers move through the Site. Any analytics data we collect is used in aggregate to improve our content; we do not use it to build advertising profiles of individual readers.

Advertising Cookies — Not Currently in Use

Advertising cookies are set by ad networks to show you relevant ads, limit how often you see the same ad, and measure campaign performance. We want to be upfront: Decor With Purpose is not currently enrolled in any advertising network, so no advertising cookies are being set by us today. If we join an ad network in the future, we will update this section and our Affiliate Disclosure before any ad cookies go live.

3. Third-Party Cookies

Some content on our pages comes from other services, and those services may set their own cookies. For example, as a Pinterest-first site we sometimes embed Pinterest pins and boards, which can set cookies from Pinterest’s domain when the embed loads. Social share buttons may behave similarly. We do not control these third-party cookies — their use is governed by the respective provider’s own cookie and privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.

4. How to Manage or Delete Cookies

You are in control. You can block, delete, or allow cookies through your browser settings at any time. Keep in mind that blocking strictly necessary cookies may cause parts of the Site to stop working properly.

Here is how to find cookie controls in the most common browsers:

  • Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
  • Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
  • Apple Safari: Settings (or Preferences) → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
  • Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data.

On mobile devices, you will find similar options under your browser app’s settings. Most browsers also offer a private or incognito mode that automatically deletes cookies when you close the window. If we enable Google Analytics in the future, you will additionally be able to opt out using Google’s own opt-out tools.

5. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time — for example, if we join an advertising network, enable new analytics, or add features that use cookies. We will post the revised Policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

6. Questions About Cookies

If you have any questions about how we use cookies, please reach us through our Contact page — we are happy to explain.
